Teachers will understand this. There is no better job, I believe, than being a teacher. Every day we are witnesses to moments when we see young people develop skills that will carry them through life. Every day brings the possibility of an “aha” moment—- those are like Christmas morning, Whst we ask is simple. We’d like respect. We are degreed professionals. Allow us to teach. Don’t overtest our kids. It breaks our hearts to see instructional time replaced by months of tests....Create a system wherein our students don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner... or whether there is heat at home. Make it possible , financially, for our students to continue their education in college or trade schools. Understand thst when we are stressed frequently it is because we care so much about our content, your children, and our families... Yes, we are also husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, siblings. Know that we chose this profession to make a difference...allow us to do just that. Finally, thank you, the support you do give us allows us to provide our best for your children.
